Ministries the Sisters are Involved In

Counselling

Sr. Shirley is an Art Therapist and offers counselling to individual and to groups. She works especially with children and families. Shirley is the link person for our Associates in the area, and as part of this work she offers spiritual support both to AMOS and to members of the parish, sharing our Servite Spirituality with them through talks and retreat days.

Sr. Joyce Mary is a counsellor who works with people who have suffered the loss of a loved one. She works with the Cruse Bereavement Care, a charity set up to support children, young people and adults to come to terms with the death of someone close to them. Joyce Mary is attached to the Community at St Juliana’s and shares prayer and community experiences with them.

Facilitation

Sr. Catherine’s ministry is one of group facilitation. She works mainly with other religious communities, but also with other faith groups, to help them plan for chapter meetings, discern choices, build a sense of collaborative team working, and support them as they work.

Fundraising for Peru

Raising funds is one of Michelle’s strengths and she is enthusiastic in finding ways to find money and resources for Project Peru and our Servite Missions. Michelle is also involved in leadership in the Servite Community. She has been linked to the Mitcham Community for more than ten years.

Hospitality

The Sisters in Bognor have always offered hospitality to Sisters from the various parts of the Congregation.  Villa Maria has a two bedroom apartment at the top of the house.  Many sisters have taken advantage of this self catering facility by the sea.  The three Sisters in the Community have been exceptionally welcoming to the guests inviting them to share meals and prayer.  Bognor Regis is an ideal spot to spend a day, a weekend or a longer vacation!

Homebound Ministry

Sr.  Francis Mary is a nurse who for many years worked in a home managed by the Servite Sisters, offering Respite Care for people who suffer from Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Now based in a parish in Prestonpans, She continues to offer care and support to the house-bound and their families.

Pastoral Work

Sr. Petronia is appointed by the Diocese of Westminster to work with the students at Allen Hall Seminary. She facilitates groups in Pastoral Reflection, helping the students to develop their skills in pastoral situations in which they have been engaged. Petro also has responsibility to work with Travellers within the Westminster Diocese. She prepares the children for the sacraments of confirmation and Communion as she offers pastoral care, and spiritual support.  Travellers
